Ponte Roma is a stable, double-knit fabric with excellent recovery and moderate stretch, known for its smooth surface, wrinkle resistance, and structure, widely used in dresses, skirts, pants, and suiting.
Composition:
100% Polyester, Polyester/Viscose, Polyester/Nylon, often with Elastane/Spandex for stretch; sometimes with Lyocell or Modal
Texture:
Smooth, compact, slightly crisp, drapey but structured, soft, matte to slight sheen, moderate weight
Stretch Level:
Moderate (excellent stretch and recovery; elastane blends add comfort)
Fabric Construction:
Double-knit (weft-knitted with interlocking structure, often on a circular knitting machine)
GSM Range:
200-350 GSM (medium weight; 220-300 GSM for apparel)
