Angora is a soft, silky, and exceptionally warm protein fiber obtained from the coat of the Angora rabbit, celebrated for its distinctive fluffy halo, supreme lightness, and outstanding thermal insulation.
Composition:
100% Keratin (Protein) from Angora rabbit; extremely fine (10-14 microns), hollow core
Texture:
Exceptionally soft, fluffy, airy, silky, with a distinctive “halo” of fine surface fibers; non-itchy, slides against the skin
Stretch Level:
Low (Inherently delicate; requires nylon or spandex blends for structural stretch)
Fabric Construction:
Woven (lightweight blends) or Knitted (e.g., Jersey, Rib, Loose Knits, Pointelle)
GSM Range:
150-600 GSM (Very lightweight for shawls, medium for sweaters, heavy for plush outerwear)
Breathability:
Excellent (Lightweight and breathable due to hollow fibers)
Moisture Management:
Excellent (Absorbs moisture efficiently; stays warm even in damp conditions)
Durability:
Low to Moderate (Fibers are fragile and prone to shedding/pilling; durability heavily depends on blend)
